Engineer in Underwater Weapons
We are looking for an engineer who wants to help drive our work in underwater weapons forward. With us, you will have the opportunity to use your skills where they truly make a difference. Together with an experienced team, you will help create solutions that leave an impact – both today and in the future.
About the Position
As an engineer in underwater weapons, you will play a central role in supporting project and product leaders with your expertise in translating needs into technical requirements, while also contributing to strengthening our capabilities in underwater defense.
The role involves closely collaborating with other parts of FMV, the Armed Forces, and the industry to provide technical analysis work, be responsible for requirements specification, participate in procurement, and evaluate technical and cost-effective solutions. The role also includes following, analyzing, and implementing technological developments in the underwater weapons field to ensure long-term effective and robust system solutions. As a natural part of your professional development, you may be assigned and lead smaller projects that can eventually lead to larger projects.
The position is located in Karlskrona. Travel is a natural part of the job.
About You
We are looking for someone who is a qualified civil or university engineer, has other relevant education in the field, or possesses equivalent skills acquired in other ways that we consider comparable. You have relevant experience working with underwater weapons. To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have a B driver's license and possess good communication skills in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
If you have previous experience serving on a submarine or corvette, we see that as an advantage. We also view positively if you have knowledge of weapon and ammunition safety as well as system safety, but this is not a requirement for the position.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences and are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others, is attentive, and solves problems constructively. We also see that you are self-driven, take initiative, and have the ability to plan and organize your work.
